Medical respite care provides a safe, staffed place for patients who are medically stable but not yet ready to return home after a hospital stay. It combines recovery support — medication management, wound care, daily living assistance — with case management focused on long-term stability.
Most referrals receive a clinical decision within 24–48 hours. Once accepted, we coordinate the transfer directly with your discharge team around the patient's anticipated discharge date.
New Era works with a range of payers. Share the patient's coverage details when you submit a referral and our admissions team will confirm eligibility.
Yes. We regularly support patients who don't have a safe home to return to. Our case managers begin housing transition planning as part of the stay.
New Era is not equipped for patients requiring skilled nursing-level care, ventilator support, or acute psychiatric crisis stabilization. If you're unsure whether a patient is appropriate, call our admissions line to discuss the case directly.
Length of stay is individualized based on recovery and housing needs, and is reassessed regularly by our case management team in coordination with the referring provider.
Yes. We provide status updates on admission and can coordinate with your care team on follow-up appointments, medication changes, and discharge planning from our program.
